  • Smoke Detectors
    Smoke detectors are a vital part of the life safety equipment you should have in your home. Should one detector be activated all others detectors will sound together. This is now required by the New York State Building code.

    CO2 monitors
    Carbon monoxide is an odorless and colorless deadly gas. It can kill a person in less then a minute. Any type of combustion system gives off this gas. All homes should have a least one on every floor, and especially one near any home heating system.

    GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter)
    These items are now a requirement in various locations all homes. They save lives and are relatively inexpensive to install. They should be tested once a month and, some required locations are bathrooms, kitchens, garages, basements, outside, etc.

    Safety Starts With You!
    Please make sure you use a licensed Electrician to install and check all your electrical systems.

    Clothing
    Wear the correct footwear no sneakers, sandals, or light dress shoes. Work shoes or boots should be worn. Good work pants and work shirt correct outerwear for each season.\r\nProtective glasses should be worn when all motorized tools. Protective head should be worn when needed.

    Vehicles
    All vehicles should have first aid kits, all mirrors and windows in operating order, all lights and mechanical parts in operation order all tools, ladders, and material in its correct place. All vehicles should have a separation between the passenger compartment and the tools and materials fire extinguisher. All vehicles should be checked daily for mechanical problems.

    Equipment
    All ladders should be inspected before each use. "NEVER STAND ON THE TOP STEP". All extension ladders should be tied of and footed during use. Any damaged ladders should be disposed of properly. "DO NOT TRY TO REPAIR STEPS". All tools should be checked for correct operation and maintained, cleaned and oiled or greased as needed.\r\nAny tools in need of repair should be taken out of service immediately and sent out for repair. All extension cords should be checked for cuts or breaks. Make sure all they are correctly grounded. Do not use cords without ground prong. "DO NOT CUT OFF GROUND PRONG". All tools should be used correctly.

    Ladders & Water
    You may want to re-think how you setup your ladder when preparing for electrical work.
